In just 4 days my entire family will get up and test for a higher level of black belt.  I will be testing for 6th degree black belt....Mrs. Wilkinson will test for 4th degree....Justin and Cameron will test for 2nd degree and Madison will test for her solid black belt.  This is a milestone for my family because we have never been able to perform together as a family.  All of us have worked hard....Mrs. Wilkinson and Cameron have had the hardest time.  My entire family is ready for it to be over!  Ha!  My wife and I have not fought like this in years....it's been fun.  HA!

 

For those of you that don't know how this works, I will explain it.  There is a minimum time that each level of black belt has to wait before that level is eligable to test.

 1st degree has to wait a minimum of 1 year.

2nd degree - 2 years

3rd degree - 3 years

4th degree - 4 years

5th degree - 5 years

6th degree - 6 years.....etc.

This is your opportunity to see us all perform.  This type of event probably will not come around again.  So, you are more than welcome to come and watch.  There is NO charge for this event.  I am not sure how long it will take.  There are about 20 people testing.  Most are going for a high level of black belt. 

 

Our very own Jordan Goode will be testing for his 3rd degree black belt.  I have allowed one other person to ever earn the rank of 3rd degree under my instruction (Corbin Leher).  This is a big deal for Mr. Goode.  Mr. Goode has been training privately with me for a long time.  He has the character of what I consider a high rank to be.  He has a strong work ethic and is a very respectful young man.  There is NO doubt he will do well.

 

My mom and dad will be here for this event as will my instructor, Rob Ellis.  There will be a lot of high ranks at this testing. 

 

The testing group is a strong one.  Mr. Scrivner, my favorite, training partner will be testing for 6th degree as well.  Mr. Powell will be testing and so will Mr. Vu.  You should all remember them from our intramural tournaments.  There will be a LOT of talented people at this testing. 

 

The testing is at Mr. Drew's school.  The name of the school is Action Martial Arts and is locate at 2035 West McDermott Drive #450, Allen, TX 75013.  The test will start at 5:00 this Saturday, February 20, 2010.  I am not sure how long it will last.  I am guessing about 2 hours.   We will do patterns, spar and break boards....lots of boards.
