Intramural Tournament!
I would like for all of my students to participate.  We do not offer tournaments very often.  Every year we talk about offering 4 but it never works out like that and we seem to only get around to offering 1-2!
 
This tournament is for EVERYONE!!  ALL AGES AND RANKS!  ELITE TEAM MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE.  THAT WAS PART OF THE ELITE TEAM DEAL.  REGISTERATION BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT IS REQUIRED.  NO MONEY WILL BE TAKEN AT THE DOOR.

TOTS AGE 3-6
The tots part of the tournament starts at 9:00 a.m.
This will last about an hour depending on how many participate. Here's what we do:  This is an intramural tournament.  We use it as a learning experience for the students.  ALL TOTS WILL GET A TROPHY.  They will get up and perform their movments and break a plastic board.  The ToTs division is a NON - COMPETITIVE division.  I want it to be a time to highlite the little guys and make them feel great about the experience.  Mrs. Drew and I normally do the tots division at these tournaments.
Cost is $50.  ALL CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE TO IAMA.

White - Advanced Yellow Belt Kids Age 6-12
This age group wil perform at 10: a.m. and will take about an hour to complete.
This is a GREAT opportunity for the students to see what it's like to participate in a tournament.  We keep these tournaments small and keep them positive.  Only 4th degree black belts or higher will center judge (that means that the main judge in each ring will be a 4th degree or above).  The center judge is in control of all the action and will encourage your child and help them when they get stuck.  It is very important that we get our kids up in front of people as often as possible.  Martial arts trains leaders.  Leaders often are in front of people.  Your child will perform Patterns and One Steps.  All Chilren will get a trophy or medal.
Cost is $50.  ALL CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE TO IAMA.

Green - Adv. Blue Belts Kids Age 6-12
This age and rank group will perform at 11:00 a.m.. 
Children at this age and rank will perform patterns and spar.  We started working on tournament preparation last week.  Your children will know exactly what to expect by tournament day.
Cost is $50.  ALL CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE TO IAMA.

Red - Adv. Brown Belts Age 6-12
This age group will perform at 12:00 p.m.. 
Competition should last about an hour. Students will perform a pattern and free spar.
Cost is $50.  ALL CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE TO IAMA.

ALL ADULTS AND BLACK BELTS
Competition starts at 1:00 p.m. and should last about 1.5 - 2 hours. 
ADULTS !!!  You should give this a try.  This will make you feel young again....hehehe.  Black Belts will perform a pattern and spar, as will all the adults. We try to keep women competing with women; and men competing with men.  WE try our best to keep it seperated like that because this is a tournament about learning how tournaments work.  It would also be quite awesome for your children to see you get out there and try.  You adults could have yet another experience at what your children have gone through on their road to black belt.

For this tournament, I am training all students FOR the tournament whether they are going or not.  If you will be in town, you should let your child participate!
